Dejan Jovanovic was a beautiful person, not just on the outside but also within. He cared about others and did everything he could to help anyone. Bernie and Teresa knew Dejan for most of his life and they shared many great times over the years at interstate competitions and at shows that they arranged together. During the last 12 months of Dejan’s life, he showed great dedication to Adelaide Ice Magic. He would come in to help with the program chorography even when he was unwell. Dejan would always push beyond what seemed like perfection to make the program brilliant.
We cannot believe that he has gone. It is so sad that such a beautiful person is no longer with us. He was loved so much. Dejan may be gone but he will remain in our hearts forever.

Dejan was not only a talented skater he also was a beautiful and dedicated Dancer. I first met Dejan in 2002 when he arrived back in
He also danced in servery contemporary works. We also danced at the Christmas skating show at Mt Thebarton that he choreographed. I am sure Dejan will be greatly missed in the dance world. He was our saviour and prince in all our ballets and in real life too!!! He was such a talent!!

"Dean was an outgoing and remarkable character who left his mark on everyone he came into contact with.
He had a true passion for figure skating, his drive, passion, commitment and determination coupled with a creative genius and natural talent led to many skating success stories. He strove for excellence and enjoyed seeing his prodigies succeed in the sport that he loved so much.
Dean’s sense of humour, warm heart and generosity made him an incredibly loveable character.
He will be sorely missed; his legacy will live on".

I knew Dean a very long time ago, we competed at Nationals and various of other competitions. I always loved seeing him, he was so full of energy and smiles. He always made me feel so at ease and welcome, not to mention all the fun we would have together. When i would see him it was like no time had gone by at all. After we both stopped competing we lost touch for a while, until i heard he was on Disney On Ice, and so was i. We got back in touch and again, it was like no time has passed. Its very hard to know why someone so great with so much happiness in him and so much to give to the people around him passes by at such a young age, all i know is this makes me want to show the people that i hold close a little bit more everyday how much they mean to me. I would of loved to have spoken to Dean more. My thoughts are with him and his family. Dean, was such amazing person, we need a lot more people like him in this world and this world would be such a happy place to be.

I find an old photograph
and see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love.
I read an old card
sent many years ago
during a time of turmoil and confusion.
The soothing words written then
still caress my spirit
and bring me peace.
I remember who you used to be
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
Where did you go,
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly?
Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colors
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow.
I miss your being
but I feel your presence,
In whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be.
Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over me.
I remember you.
You are with me
and I am not afraid.

I had met Dejan very soon after starting ice skating in 1992 in Adelaide. He was a role model to both my brother and myself and we soon became good friends. My family moved up to Brisbane, but every Summer Trophy Dejan would come up and we'd catch up. He then moved up to Brisbane, and at the time my brother and myself were doing pairs and Dejan volunteered his time to teach us new lifts etc. I will always remember his smile, the way he entertained (especially his 'I'm too sexy' at Summer Trophy), his patience and humour. I am very grateful that I got to meet this very special man and he will always have a very special place in my heart, like I'm sure he has with all his other friends. I will miss you Dejan.
