History

   HISTORY   

1991– The original teams were called the 'Southern Vale Icees' and was called precision skating as today it is named synchronized skating. The team was based at the Southern Ice Skating Rink at Lonsdale, which has since closed in the year 2001. 

The Southern Vale Icces as a Novice team competed in the Australian Championships for the first time placing 5th.

Adult Team also competing and coming home with a bronze medal.

1992

 Southern Vales Icees Novice and Adult competed in the first Precision National Championships in Bendigo, Victoria

1993

Southern Vales Icees in Novice and Adult competed in State Championships. 

 

1994

Southern Vales Icees competed in Novice and placed 4th at the Australian Championships.


1995

Southern Icees competed for the first time in the Junior division placing 6th at the AFSC.

Adult team "Charlie and the Ice Angels" placed 4th at the AFSC.

1996 - The Junior team changed the name to Adelaide Avalanche and placed 5th at the AFSC. 

Adult Team "The Edge" placed 3rd at the AFSC.

 

1997 -Adelaide Avalanche Junior team placed 5th at the AFSC.

Adult team The Edge placed 3rd at the AFSC.

 

1998 – Adelaide Avalanche Junior team took out South Australia's first-ever precision medal at the Australian Figure Skating Championships (AFSC), 3rd place.

Adult team The Edge placed 2nd at the AFSC.

 

1999

Adelaide Avalanche Junior placed 1st at the AFSC.

Adelaide Dream Team Novice placed 2nd at the AFSC.

The Edge Adult placed 2nd place at the AFSC.

 

2000

Adelaide Avalanche Junior placed 1st place at the AFSC.

Adelaide Dream Team Novice placed 2nd at the AFSC.

The Edge Adult placed 1st at the AFSC.

Adelaide Avalanche changed its name to 'Allegra'.

 

2001 – The New Noarlunga Ice Sports Centre was opened and the teams had a new place to call home.

Allegra Junior placed 1st again at the AFSC and was nominated to compete at the Junior World Synchronised Figure Skating Championships in Croatia. Allegra became the first-ever Junior Synchronised skating team to represent Australia.

Adult team The Edge placed 3rd at the AFSC.

 

2002

Allegra Junior competed at the Junior World Championships in Croatia and placed 19th in the world.

Allegra Junior placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Dream Team Novice placed 1st at the AFSC.

The Edge Adult team placed 2nd at the AFSC.

 

2003

Adelaide Dream Team changed its name to 'Adelaide Ice Magic'. Adelaide Ice Magic Novice placed 1st at the AFSC.

 

2004

Adelaide Ice Magic Novice placed 1st at the AFSC.

 

2005

Adelaide Ice Magic Novice represented Australia in the ISU French Cup, placing 9th, and in the ISU Spring Cup placing 3rd. This was the first-ever medal for an Australian Synchronised Novice Team in an ISU event. Adelaide Ice Magic moved up to Junior when returning from their overseas competition and placed 1st at the AFSC. Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice placed 1st at the AFSC. Enve Adult placed 2nd at the AFSC,

 

2006

Adelaide Ice Magic Junior competed at the World Cup Challenge for Juniors in Helsinki, Finland, and placed 18th overall. Following this competition, Adelaide Ice Magic Junior moved up to Senior.

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice placed 1st at the AFSC.

Enve Adult placed 1st the AFSC.

 

2007

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 2nd at the AFSC. Our club also had another new team with skaters coming up from the Aussie Skate team and this team was called 'Adelaide Ice Mystique Junior'.Adelaide Ice Mystique Junior placed 4th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice placed 3rd at the AFSC.

 

2008

Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice competed in the Berlin Cup, placing 4th, and the Prague Cup, placing 5th. Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 2nd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice placed 2nd at the AFSC.

 

2009

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 2nd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Novice placed 2nd at the AFSC.

 

2010

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Open placed 1st at the AFSC.

 

2011

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Open placed 5th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic competed in Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA at the Maplewood Sync Classic came 1st in both events.

 

2012 - Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Open placed 1st at the AFSC.

 

2013

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 5th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Open placed 1st at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icy Magic Basic Novice placed 4th at the AFSC.

 

2014

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 5th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icicle Magic Open placed 8th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Icy Magic Basic Novice placed 3rd at the AFSC.

 

2015 – The 'Adelaide Ice Magic' name was used for all three competing teams.

Adelaide Ice Magic Senior placed 5th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice placed 1st at the AFSC.

2016

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 4th in AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Adult placed 2nd in AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice 2nd AFSC.

2017

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice placed 2nd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 1st at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Adult placed 3rd at the AFSC.

2018

Adelaide Ice Magic Advanced Novice placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 2nd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Advance Adult placed 2nd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice placed 6th at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Advance Novice competed at the USFSC Synchronized Fall Classic in Anaheim, USA placing 3rd.

2019 – The 'Adelaide Ice Magic' name was used for all

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 1st at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice placed 3rd at the AFSC.

Adelaide Ice Magic Advanced Adult place 1st at the AFSC.

2020 – (year of Covid19)

Adelaide Ice Magic Junior competed at the ISU Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland placing 1st.

Adelaide Ice Magic Advance Adult competed at the ISU Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland placing 1st.

NATIONALS 2020 - CANCELED

Adelaide Ice Magic Adult competed in online International Competitions in USA & Poland taking home 1st Place

 

2021 – (year of Covid19 CANCELED)

Adelaide Ice Magic Basic Novice placed 3rd at the AFSC Online

Adelaide Ice Magic Mixed Age placed 4th at the AFSC.
